Why do I need a Pool Safety Fence?

Florida leads the United States in child drownings as a cause of death. Children ages 1-4 are at the highest risk of drowning, and according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), 75% of all pool/spa droawning related deaths occur to children younger than 5 years old. Most of these tragedies occur in a family backyard pool as such young children do not have the skills or ability to save themselves if they fall in. Furthermore, not only are water-related deaths an alarming cause for concern, but for every child who dies from drowning, five more children suffer from drowning-related injuries and must be rushed to the ER. Most of these pool or water drownings could be prevented simply by installing a pool safety fence at home as soon as possible. As soon as your baby can crawl, they are at hugely increased risk, so we highly recommend installing a fence sooner rather than later. For more information, visit:

What happens after I call you?

We will schedule a time to provide you with an estimate and offer you some color choices for your fence. We may need to come out to see your pool or seawall in order to generate that estimate, and we’ll work with your schedule to make it as convenient for you as possible. Once that process is done and you’ve decided My Baby Fence is your choice provider, we'll schedule your install!

Do you sell DIY materials?

No. We strongly believe pool safety should be left to professionals. We utilize specific tools and must complete training in order to ensure we properly build and install your pool fence to thoroughly protect your loved ones. Most DIY fence kits are often mass-produced in overseas factories with cheap materials that are not as carefully vetted for quality or safety. These factories are simply trying to sell a product. Many times, the cost of buying and installing a My Baby Fence safety fence is comparable to the cost of a DIY kit, and it comes with much less hassle. Many clients have unintentionally gotten themselves into a mess attempting to DIY install a fence either by wasting their time, money, and sanity or, worse, seriously damaging their pool deck. We want your family to be safe, so we do the install as well as the manufacturing.

What makes your products better?

Our screen material is see-through and nearly transparent, allowing for as minimal visual disruption as is possible with a pool fence. During the production process, this material is specifically cut to size first then it has the borders sewn on. This order of construction ensures consistent size and quality for each section. Once each screen section is fully completed, we place them on a custom jig and use stainless steel screws to screw the screens together with our custom powder-coated poles. We pride ourselves on attention to detail, so each section is made by hand and inspected for quality at every step of the process. (Meanwhile, our competitors rely on machines that hopefully get it right!) To ensure you end up with a flawless, strong fence, we measure every section we use to an exact size during installation around your pool. No sagging allowed here!

Do I need a construction permit?

No, permits are not required for removable pool safety fences.

How tall is your fence?

Our fences are four (4) feet tall, which match state law requirements. The poles are spaced three (3) feet apart, and the border is sewn on to the mesh, which is attached to the poles.

Can the pool fence be removed?

Yes. All our pool fences can be lifted from the in-ground sleeves and rolled up in a matter of minutes.

Should we keep the pool fence in place?

Yes. While our pool fence can be removed by adults if needed, it's best to always leave it in place. The fence is useless if it's not installed, and we just want you to have peace of mind knowing your family is safe.

Will my child be able to break the fence?

Not unless your child has super strength or is the next Avenger. Our poles were custom designed over years of testing and are the strongest you'll find! They are high strength and can withstand pressure due to reinforcement. Our poles only bend or break at over 60 lbs, which is double the pressure of competitors’ designs or poles you find online. Because we design, test, and manufacture our own poles, we have direct control over their quality, allowing for a higher-strength product with greater longevity.

Do your gates close by themselves?

Yes, our gates are self-closing and self-latching. They also come with a lock and key if you want to lock it while you are away or for the winter.

Do your gates have a trip bar on the ground?

No. You will not have to step over any bar on the ground when you walk through one of our self-closing gates. We seek to minimize hazards, including potentially tripping or stubbing your toes, when installing your fence—not the opposite!

Can you install a fence on a cool deck or brick pavers?

Yes, we can install a pool safety fence on most any surface. Give us a call and let us take a look at your space! Your fence is guaranteed to look good and provide years of safety.

Do I need to be present during installation?

Yes, we do need someone to be available during the installation. Sometimes questions arise and it's best if we can get an answer right away. We also will go over the exact placement of the fence and location of the gate and get any last-minute requests from the customers.

Will my fence deteriote over time?

No. We use only top-of-the-line materials in the construction of your fence. Also, all parts used are either aluminum or stainless steel, which do not rust.

Do you install pool net covers?

No. Pool net covers are not very practical in Florida conditions, often pose a huge hassle for the customer, and aren’t nearly as safe as a pool fence. Many clients we’ve worked with initially tried pool nets but were unhappy with the results and called us to install a safety fence instead.

Can my fence match my screen?

Yes, we can match the pool fence and baby gate to your screen enclosure or your patio deck, whichever you prefer. We have a few color combinations, and we'd be happy to talk with you about your job!
